One of the mandatory visiting locations in the Death Valley National Park, Badwater Basin is the lowest point in North America, with an elevation of 86 meters (282 ft) below sea level. Temperatures are extreme at the park in general, and this location is no exception. Salt accumulated at the bottom of the basin crystalizes as water evaporates leaving the rugged terrain depicted. http://bit.ly/1rSCVdw
