little stint (Calidris minuta) by PhotoStock-Israel

little stint (Calidris minuta). This small wading shorebird is a migrant, breeding in the sub-Arctic tundra and islands, and spending the winter around the coasts of Africa. It feeds on insects, crustaceans and molluscs, which it usually finds on mudflats and estuaries. It reaches a maximum length of around 14 centimetres. Photographed in Israel, in August http://bit.ly/1ojjgUm
