Cardinal by jpstanisic

Was honestly just playing around in the front yard snapping shots around the bird feeder for practice ... and I was pretty happy with the way this shot worked out. The light behind the cardinal was near sunset coming through a line of trees and the ground. It seemed to add some visual interest to the space around the bird without taking away from him. The warmth seemed to bring out the blue fringing in his back and wing feathers. http://500px.com/photo/70639611
